The UK’s largest dedicated children’s literature festival is lovingly produced by local families and more than 150 unpaid volunteers and none of us receives any payment for our time or contributions. This means that we can use 100% of the revenue we receive from ticket sales towards making the book magic happen for thousands of families from all over London and beyond.
The Festival is also home to the London Schools Literature Festival – the largest FREE festival schools programme in the UK.
This year we’ll reach over 20,000 state school children at our amazing author and illustrator events from Twickenham Stadium to Tower Hamlets and for almost all of them, it will be their first: over 25% of the children that attend are eligible for deprivation Pupil Premium, and up to 20% do not own a book of their own.
Our dream is to provide free author and illustrator events for primary schools in every borough of London, but for us to reach even more children and inspire them to read, write and share their stories, we are going to need your support.
But we reckon partnerships are more than payment. Sure, we can make some space for your logo on our posters and programmes but we like to think we’re better than that. Our partnering approach strives to make every single collaboration meaningful for our audience at the same time as providing plenty of new and exciting ways to express your brand. We know how to speak to families, because we are families.
So if you’re interested in helping us make the magic happen, then we’d love to hear from you at getinvolved@londonkidslitfest.org

This year via our schools outreach programme, the London Schools Literature Festival, we will provide over 20,000 places at our events completely free for state primary schools all over London so that every child can experience the magic of an author or illustrator event, regardless of their reading ability or background.
We work very hard to provide these places free for the schools but they are not free to produce. We have no major sponsor and receive no government funding of any kind.
We survive at all because we are all unpaid volunteers banging away around our big digital kitchen tables with no office and minimal running costs which means that when you give to the Programme we can use 100% of your donation to reach even more schools and communities.
It costs us £5 to provide each child with the opportunity to attend a London Schools Literature Festival event so please consider making a donation so we can offer a place at a free author event to every state school student in London. Whatever you can give will make a big difference.
